About Harvey Duckman
“Probably the best collection I have ever been part of…”
Our aim is to bring fanastic original new fiction to readers, and to give writers a supportive and genuine community in which to thrive.

WE ARE OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS
PIRATES, OUTLAWS & BRIGANDS
3k wobbly word limit (minimum 2k, max 6k)
In this basket, we’re looking for defiance and insubordination, insurrection and rebellion, anarchy and disorder… We like characters that defy convention, anti-heroes who’ll do what’s necessary and quirks that keep us on our toes.
DEADLINE: 27th November 2026
UPCOMING BASKETS
We have four main baskets into which we allocate stories as they are accepted. These baskets lead to themed editions of Harvey that are published quarterly. Any stories that we love, that don’t fit into one of our existing baskets, may find a home in a catch-all variety collection. And every now and then we might throw out a call for a specific bonkers theme we like the sound of.
Subscribe to keep up to date with basket deadlines.
